Bike to Work on May 18

It does not take much to become a bike commuter.  All you need is a bike, some pre-planning, and a little advice from those who bike to work regularly.  To help you get started, Bike Walk CT is sponsoring a state wide Bike to Work Celebration in May. And CTRides is hosting CTRides week May 14 to 18, to encourage commuters to try a new way to get to work.

John Roberts sets up Social Networking Groups for Nerac Earth Cycling

To continue increasing exposure of the club and add more social networking capabilities we have created dedicated groups on MapMyRide, LinkedIn, and Facebook. We’re not sure which features we will be using yet since they all have their own advantages, but feel free to join and help identify their value. The MapMyRide group is a nice way to share favorite routes between members. And if nothing else, they give you another cool icon to add to your profiles.

Feel free to pass along any thoughts or recommendation, you can find me on any of these systems or on the road. -John Roberts

Cool site for mapping your road rides

Check out http://www.routeslip.com The site allows you to build routes for cycling with directions, distance and elevations and create a ride log. You share your route with other users and also get to search for new routes. I put up a few of our lunch rides and a Sunday ride.  — John
